About
What is PlayWiki?
PlayWiki tracks the games people are actually playing. We start with the number everyone asks about — how many people are playing right now? — by reading the official Steam Web API directly and taking an hourly snapshot. Over time those snapshots become a history no single moment can show: launch spikes, weekend rhythm, the slow fade or the surprise comeback.
Around that data we build wikis and reference pages for each game: release timelines, guides, and answers to the questions players actually search for. Every fact on the site is checked against a primary source before it ships — and when we can't verify something, we say so instead of guessing.
How we work
- One domain, one section per game. Each game keeps its own visual identity; the site stays out of the way.
- Official data only. Player counts come from the Steam Web API; images come from official store assets, credited in the footer.
- Verified facts or nothing. Numbers are never estimated, and timelines only list dates we can check.
- Independent and fan-run. PlayWiki is an unofficial fan site — not affiliated with NCSOFT, Valve, or any publisher. Game names and trademarks belong to their owners.
